“The products truly work! The results are recognizable and substantial. I used Tranquility on my reining show horse needing to be rehabilitated from a bowed tendon and the results were remarkable. Jac went from an unmanageable horse to a very pleasant controlled citizen in just 3 days with Platinum Tranquility.”

Calming Formulas & Competition

At Platinum, no forbidden substance is ever added to a formula. However, because calming supplements may contain natural or plant-based ingredients (that can have naturally occurring substances that may or may not result in a positive test), we recommend that you discontinue use of supplements intended to calm 7 days prior to competition. If you have any questions, call and talk to a Platinum Advisor about the formulas you give to your competitive horse.

Calming Ingredients to Look For

Magnesium: A macromineral involved in both the nervous and muscular systems that is used as a first line of defense to support neuromuscular and behavioral sensitivities.

Calcium: It is important to keep the dietary calcium to magnesium ratio at about 2:1 so horses do not develop symptoms of muscle problems, irritability or hypersensitivity.

B Vitamins: Vitamin B1 (thiamin), vitamin B6 (pyridoxine) and vitamin B12 (cobalamin) are referred to as neurotropic B vitamins as they work together to promote nervous system health.

L-Theanine: A unique extract from green tea used by the brain to promote neurotransmitter production, relaxation and focus.

Magnolia Officinalis: Studies suggest this medicinal plant extract supports a normal stress response and promotes relaxation.

Phellodendron amurense: Combined with Magnolia officinalis, this bark extract supports a calming state as well as improving sleep.

A GI-Focused Approach to Calmness

Illness, stress, antibiotic use or a high-starch diet can compromise the delicate microbe population in the hindgut and impair the production of B vitamins which are important for normal nervous system function. Providing a daily source of pre- and probiotics along with omega-3 fatty acids, vitamins and trace minerals like what is found in Platinum Performance® GI can help to ensure horses have the B vitamins necessary to support calming.

It has really allowed her to achieve more with her training, faster, than originally thought possible. The future is full of possibilities and the supplement has worked wonders.”
